Mango Lassi
Mango Lassi has a special place in my heart because I tried it in my first video I ever did trying Indian food and was instantly obsessed. The sweetness, creaminess, and texture makes it one of my favorite drinks. Whether you're cooling down on a hot day or looking for a delightful accompaniment to your Indian meal, mango lassi is a perfect choice. Follow this easy recipe to create your own at home!
Ingredients
1 ripe mango, peeled and diced (about 1 cup)
1 cup plain yogurt (preferably full-fat for creaminess)
1/2 cup milk (adjust consistency as desired)
2-3 tablespoons sugar (adjust according to sweetness of mango)
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom (optional, for extra flavor)
Ice cubes (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Mango:
Peel the ripe mango and cut the flesh away from the pit. Dice the mango into small pieces.
Blend Ingredients:
In a blender, combine the diced mango, plain yogurt, milk, sugar, and ground cardamom (if using).
Blend Until Smooth:
Blend the mixture on high speed until smooth and creamy. If the lassi is too thick, add more milk a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
Serve Chilled:
Pour the mango lassi into glasses.
Optionally, add a few ice cubes to each glass to keep it chilled.
Garnish (Optional):
Garnish with a sprinkle of ground cardamom or a few slices of fresh mango on the rim of the glass for a decorative touch.
Tips:
Use ripe mangoes for the best flavor. If mangoes are not in season, you can also use canned mango pulp (adjust sweetness accordingly).
Adjust the thickness of the lassi by adding more or less milk according to your preference.
For a dairy-free version, you can use coconut yogurt and coconut milk instead of yogurt and regular milk.
