Ingredients

  • 2 oz Reposado tequila

  • 1 oz triple sec or orange liqueur

  • 2 squeezed limes

  • 1 1/2 cup frozen mango

  • 2 slices of jalapeño (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 oz agave syrup or simple syrup (adjust to taste)

  • Ice cubes

  • Tajín or chili lime seasoning (for rimming the glass, optional)

  • Lime wedges and mango slices (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass:

    • If desired, rim the edge of a margarita glass with Tajín or chili lime seasoning. To do this, rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and dip it into the seasoning on a plate.

  2. Muddle Mango and Jalapeño:

    • In a cocktail shaker, muddle the diced mango and jalapeño slices together. Muddling helps release the flavors and juices from the mango and jalapeño.

  3. Add Tequila, Triple Sec, Lime Juice, and Syrup:

    • Add silver tequila, triple sec (or orange liqueur), fresh lime juice, and agave syrup (or simple syrup) to the cocktail shaker.

  4. Shake Vigorously:

    • Fill the cocktail shaker with ice cubes and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. This helps chill the ingredients and blend the flavors well.

  5. Strain Into Glass:

    • Fill the prepared margarita glass with fresh ice cubes.

    • Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into the glass over the ice.

  6. Garnish:

    • Garnish your spicy mango margarita with a lime wedge on the rim of the glass and a slice of mango on the side.

Tips:

  • Adjust the spiciness of the margarita by adding more or fewer jalapeño slices, and remember to taste as you go.

  • If you prefer a sweeter margarita, increase the amount of agave syrup or simple syrup.

Besos, Mari
